Once more Guildford Lions will be organising their
Annual Charity Raft Race on the River Wey from
Millmead in the centre of Guildford to the Waterside
Centre 4kms down stream. The race will commence at
3.00pm and results will be announced as soon as
everyone has arrived safely at the finish. As usual
there will be a bar and BBQ to refresh tried rafters
and their supporters.
Raft racing offers
companies, charity groups and individuals the chance to
take part in a fun event and at the same time raise
funds for your favourite charity and for
Guildford
Lions Club. The race offers opportunities for team
building, bonding, exercise, getting wet and having a
few beers afterwards.
Over the years the race has raised over £250,000 and
despite the present financial situation we are sure
we can make this years race a huge success.
